Today marks the Tenth Anniversary of Princess Diana's tragic death....
This is a 1984 Life Magazine that I kept over the years, having no idea, that Diana and Charles' lives would play out as they did......
When she and Prince Charles married, I got up in the middle of the night to watch the wedding on television. She always was special to me.....I think because she came across as shy and unassuming....it was really hard to believe that she had been killed in the wreck.......she was indeed the people's princess....the Queen of Hearts.....

I'm showing you some of my recent thrifting finds........I collect pewter and white dishes along with lots of other things........I'm not a purist when it comes to collecting....if I like it I don't mind that it may have a chip or whatever.....
These are some old, not the best, oval platters that caught my eye and a round small plate.....
Salt and pepper shakers..........
Three rounded mugs that I really like for a dollar each....maybe someday I'll happen up on some more like these....
This three piece ironstone set was just $2.00........ I have a set of white ironstone that I got many years ago.........I like to mix and match it with my Blue Willow and Red Willow dishes....

This is a shelf in my kitchen with part of my pewter.....the shelf was in its first life a deck for a hutch.....at our house things don't necessarily remain what they began as...........my husband sawed off a portion of the bottom......I also like teapots, roosters and blue and white dishes..........do you see beyond what something is to what it can be?
